Gold Loan Calculator

Estimate how much loan your gold could support using its weight, purity, reference value and an adjustable loan-to-value ratio.

Live reference rateAdjustable LTV24K–14K purity

Value your gold

Weight and purity are used with the 24K reference rate to estimate the underlying gold value.

Adjust LTV

Compare estimates using different loan-to-value assumptions rather than treating one figure as guaranteed.

Understand the estimate

Actual eligibility can differ after lender valuation, purity testing, deductions and lender-specific rules.

How it works

Gold loan calculation formula

The calculator first estimates the purity-adjusted value of your gold. It then applies the selected loan-to-value ratio to estimate potential loan eligibility.

Step 1

Assessed gold value = weight × (purity ÷ 24) × 24K rate

Step 2

Estimated loan = assessed gold value × LTV percentage

Worked example

Example: 50g of 22K gold

Assume the 24K reference rate is ₹12,000 per gram and the LTV used for the estimate is 75%.

22K rate

₹11,000/g

Gold value

₹5,50,000

Assumed LTV

75%

Estimated loan

₹4,12,500

₹12,000 × (22 ÷ 24) = ₹11,000 per gram. ₹11,000 × 50 = ₹5,50,000 assessed gold value. At 75% LTV, the indicative loan amount is ₹4,12,500.

This example is for explanation only. Actual lender valuation and eligibility can differ.

Common questions

Gold Loan Calculator FAQ

How is the gold loan amount calculated?

Gold Ledger first estimates the value of the pledged gold from its weight, purity and 24K reference rate. The selected loan-to-value percentage is then applied to that assessed gold value to estimate the loan amount.

What does LTV mean in a gold loan?

LTV means loan-to-value. It represents the percentage of the assessed gold value used to estimate the loan amount. The calculator lets you adjust this assumption instead of treating one figure as guaranteed.

Does 75% LTV mean I will definitely receive 75% of my gold value?

No. The calculator uses 75% as its default maximum assumption. Actual lender eligibility can be lower and depends on valuation, eligible net gold weight, purity, lender policy and applicable rules.

Does the calculator include stones in jewellery weight?

You should ideally enter the eligible gold weight rather than the total weight of stones or other non-gold material. A lender may deduct stones and other components during valuation.

Does this calculator show gold loan interest or EMI?

No. This calculator estimates the potential loan amount against gold. Use the Gold Loan Interest Calculator or Gold Loan EMI Calculator to estimate borrowing cost and repayments.

Is the estimated loan amount a loan offer?

No. It is an indicative estimate only. Actual loan eligibility, valuation, interest rate, charges and repayment terms are determined by the lender.
